StartIng your relationship with God.

Starting a new relationship can be exciting but also nerve-racking. You try not to overthink it and just go with the flow. You want to say the right thing to impress the other person, but ultimately you want to give your best. All these same emotions can come into play when you’re starting a relationship with God, and one of the biggest questions we may have is “how do I even start?”

In my podcast, The Secret Place, I talk about why I chose to start my relationship with Jesus and 3 easy things you can do to start your own.

1. Get to know Him.

2. Hang out with others who know Him.

3. Take your time.

I encourage you to check it out.

I also wanted to provide you some resources that I used to help me start this very important relationship in my life. Below you will find a list of books, devotionals, bible studies, and tools I have used and continue to use every day. I hope they help as you begin your relationship.

1. Battlefield of the Mind – Joyce Meyer

Since I was in a really bad mental state at the beginning of my journey, my mom recommended I read this book and it was completely life transforming. It has helped me be aware of my thoughts and understand that I don’t have to think what I am thinking, and I can choose to replace it with God’s word.

2. Unstoppable – Christine Caine

Love this book. It helped me know that my life has a purpose and I can be courageous to step out and run my race.

3. I Declare War- Levi Lusko

4. The Fight to Flourish – Jennie Lusko

5. Seamless (Bible Study)- Angie Smith

This bible study workbook helped me learn to read the bible from beginning to end and understand the overall meaning behind the word of God.

6. Living Free (Bible Study)- Beth Moore

If you, like many of us, get nervous about praying because you don’t know what to say this bible study helps you learn to pray using God’s word.

7. Bible App

This free app really helped me in the beginning. You can have the bible in your mobile device in any translation and language. They also provide all sorts of reading plans based on varies topics that are awesome to start your day.
