Where are you right now? Are you afraid? Are you barely holding on? Does life just seem to be a series of unfortunate events? One problem after another and no clarity of when you will pass all of this?
Hard times come, and sometimes it comes in small waves that are easy to withstand. But other times fear comes like a tidal wave, joined with worry, fear, doubt, and anxiety. In the face of that tidal wave your legs begin to tremble, your heart begins to race. You see the magnitude of what you’re facing and you feel like you’re about to lose balance. Everything you were standing strong on before, in the back of your mind now.
You see with you physical eyes the enormity of the situation and all the damage it has done or can do. Not only that, but it feels so much bigger than what you are capable to go through. What are you going to do? Are you going to allow the wave just sweep you up and overwhelm you?
What if I could tell you there is a high rock where you can run to? This rock will make your legs and feet stand steady no matter the enormity of what you are facing. At this high rock, your confidence and hope would be renewed. You will find a strength and courage you didn’t know to have. That wave that looked so big, that seemed would consume all you, seems smaller and smaller. On this high rock, you won’t be alone; you will be with the One who is light and salvation (Ps 27:1). With the One who turns your sorrow to joy (John 16:20), and the One even the wind and waves obey (Matt 8: 27).
Run to the high rock!
“For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock. 6 Then I will hold my head high above my enemies who surround me. At his sanctuary I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy, singing and praising the Lord with music.”
Psalm 27: 5-6 NLT
